The Shirrells
We have had a burden on our hearts to reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ since the day of our conversion (Miranda at the age of 7 in 2003 and Chris at the age of 16 in 2009). After getting married in 2014, our burden grew and we knew that God was leading us to be missionaries to the unreached people of the world. That burden was soon focused on Japan when we met Tim and Jenelle McCown, missionaries to Japan, at our missions conference in 2015. We soon learned that Japan is the largest unreached people group in the world and from there, we prayed. It did not take long for God to reveal to us, through our heavy burden and passion, that Japan would be the place we would serve the Lord and preach His saving Gospel to these people who would likely never hear the name of Jesus otherwise.
